NICE Cheap First Date

Ice Skating Rink. Perfectly cheap and romantic. After all, you get to hold hands! Although many men think this is for sissies, it really is a lot of fun and sure to get you laughing, especially if you or your date isn't a very good skater!

Museum Trips. Oh these are great. They are extremely conducive to conversation as you walk past different exhibits or pieces and usually have a coffee shop or cafeteria.

Ice Cream Shops. Assuming you or your date is not lactose intolerant, this is a good little outing. Sharing a banana split is great fun for all ages. Be sure to get several different flavors and experiment! Going for a walk after ice cream is a good excuse to hold hands and walk off those extra calories.

Bike Trips. Going on an afternoon bike trip is a splendid idea. Be sure to pack a lunch, blanket and plenty of water! Exercises bring out endorphins which make people happy so chances are you will both be feeling good on this date. Be sure that the trip isn't too long or difficult for either of you.
Concerts in the Park. Many parks offer free concerts in the summer. Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity for a free date. Pack a blanket, wine, cheese and crackers and you are set to go! If you are in the New York area, the Philharmonic offers several free concerts in several parks. They are wonderfully romantic!

The Beach. Beach dates are great both in the day and in the evening. All you need is a blanket, snacks and beverages and you are set to go! Evening trips to the beach are especially romantic. Be prepared to snuggle up!

Dinner at your house. Depending on how you met, this may or may not be appropriate. Personally, I don't ever recommend this option unless you already know each other. However, if you do know each other somehow and trust this person, inviting them for dinner is an excellent way to show off your cooking talents. Pour it on thick, lights down low, jazz music, candles and wine. Need I say more?
